Progress of the Week

Another week, another update! I've spent most of my time working on the tutorial content. It's still not complete, but the finished parts are ready to be rolled out, so here they are! I hope they help you get started in the game.

I took a break on Wednesday to work on some graphical updates. The green plains now feel less empty, thanks to more terrain variation and shadows. You can find the full changelog below this post!

My plan for next week is to keep adding more tutorials where needed, but also to revisit the exploration system. I'm not happy with how the fog of war looks, and many of you have also told me the same. Additionally, I plan to add some cool new features in the next update, such as the ability to preview a region before exploring it, so you can decide which one to visit first.

Additions

  • Added: Brand-new tutorial system.
  • Added: Trees now have shadows.
  • Added: More terrain variation in map generation.
  • Added: Free buildings will now be built even when the game is paused.

Changes

  • Changed: When the game is paused, the current speed button is no longer highlighted.
  • Changed: The "automatically allow" option for storage is now disabled by default.

Fixes

  • Fixed: Removed the ability to select and issue orders to a Greenfeet that is exploring.
  • Fixed: Light and shadows not updating after loading a save.
  • Fixed: Storage zones not automatically allowing new items when requested.
