Greenfeet Haven

Hello, dear Greenfeet friends! May the grass be soft beneath your feet!

I'm thrilled to announce that the demo version of Greenfeet Haven is available for free! It's been a long year to get this done, but thanks to your support and feedback, we did it!

I've already received feedback and bug reports, and I'm already fully committed to the production of a patch to fix the most urgent ones. I hope to have it ready in the coming days.

So now, what's next?

A festival!

To begin with, Greenfeet Haven will be part of the Steam City Builder & Colony Sim festival, starting this Monday, March 24th! Don't miss it, there should be a lot of cool games in there!

Polishing the demo

After the festival, a few weeks will be dedicated to the polishing of the demo. Updates will be published as soon as they are ready. Based on your feedback, I want to refine the player experience until it reaches a perceived level of quality I'm comfortable with. It is important to me to produce games that are crafted with care, and with the player's wishes in mind.

New pace for dev updates and blogposts

I want to slow down the pace of the weekly updates on the playtest version. Maintaining them has helped me a ton to stay on track for the early development phase, but it also prevented some wider jumps in terms of features. Until now, my weekly schedule has been 4 days of development, 1 day of bugfix / patch release. I want to have a week where there is basically no release, where I can try more things without feeling the pressure of having something to deliver by Friday.

The one-update-a-week schedule could come back later when the game is nearing its full release though, it has proven to be a valuable way to get things done.
