Greenfeet Haven

Hello, dear Greenfeet friends! May the grass be soft beneath your feet!

What a week! It’s been exactly 7 days since the game launched and 4 days since the Steam Festival for city-building and colony sim games began. Many new players have discovered the game, and the feedback has been largely positive, which is super encouraging!

A few bugs have popped up here and there, and I’m fixing them based on their severity. Notably:

  • Graphical artifacts appearing if Windows zoom is set above 100%.
  • A crash to desktop when finishing the exploration of a sector (investigation in progress).
  • A crash to desktop when starting a new game if Windows Defender’s "Controlled Folder Access" option is enabled.
  • Several cases of Greenfeet getting stuck while exploring or working.
  • An issue where campfire refuel orders don’t cancel if the campfire is destroyed.
  • And plenty of other minor but annoying bugs.

Beyond the bugs, I’ve noticed that feedback has focused on two main topics: the research system and the worker AI. So, once the bugs are addressed, I’ll be focusing on these core aspects.

I want to provide more control and visibility over AI priorities, as well as the research system. Right now, the discovery-based recipe system is seen as rewarding but also frustrating since players don’t always get what they’re looking for first. I have a few ideas to tackle this issue and plan to test them out. More details on that soon!
